Online MBA - Management Specialization
In today's competitive business environment, companies increasingly rely on employees with professional management degrees to supervise their organizations. From risk assessment to project management to personnel issues, companies around the world rely heavily on people with extensive training in this dynamic field. Whatever the industry, management degree holders play crucial roles in overseeing the daily and long-term operations of firms and organizations.
As firms continue to grow in size, each department is run by managers with specializations in specific areas. A human resources manager, for example, would take care of recruitment, training, leave policies, and the health and insurance benefits of employees. Similarly, a marketing manager would focus on developing and implementing marketing plans for an organization.
The core courses in management include accounts, finance, managerial economics, management and organizations, management and strategy, risk management, and business operations. Industry-specific courses then prepare you to work in the fields of their choice. For instance, if you're interested in running your own business, you'll want to major in management and strategy. There are management courses in real estate, media, healthcare, bio-technology, hospitality, and entertainment. Salaries vary by experience, education, and industry, but it's not uncommon for managers to make $60,000 a year.
