According to projections by the Ohio Job & Family Services, Office of Workforce Development, the Ohio economy is expected to create 425,000 new jobs in the upcoming decade. Although these jobs will provide opportunities for individuals of all education levels, prospects for employees with advanced education and training are especially positive. Occupations that require postsecondary training in Ohio will increase at a rate of 13.5% (compared to 4.9% for other jobs).
Ohio is one of the country's leading producers of durable goods such as machinery, automobile parts, and steel. Other manufacturing industries include processed foods, tools, and industrial chemicals. Some of the more well known brands in Ohio include:
